Fallout Shelter Has Grossed $100 Million on Mobile
With a spin-off heading to China and a version built for Tesla cars on the horizon, Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic society sim Fallout Shelter has come a long way since its original release on mobile four years ago. This is perhaps most evident in its latest revenue milestone, which saw the title vault past $100 million in global player spending on the App Store and Google Play according to Sensor Tower Store Intelligence estimates.
Fallout Shelter has been a global success for Bethesda, with about 41 percent of its revenue originating from outside the United States. Store Intelligence data shows that it has performed best in Western markets, with Great Britain delivering about 9 percent of spending, or $9 million, making it the game’s second largest region by revenue. By comparison, U.S. players have spent approximately $60 million in the title. The game’s top five markets are rounded out by Germany (5 percent), Canada (4 percent), and Australia (3.4 percent).
China, which is getting the game’s multiplayer follow-up exclusively, is Fallout Shelter’s top Asian market on mobile, ranked No. 6 overall. It has generated approximately $3 million in player spending through Apple’s App Store there.
Sensor Tower estimates that Fallout Shelter has been installed by more than 63 million mobile players worldwide on the App Store and Google Play. They have spent an average of $68,000 per day in the game since launch.
